FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

McLean, VA— The Copper Development Association (CDA) proudly welcomes Chicago Extruded Metals (CXM) as its newest member. Founded in 1923, CXM has a long and rich history of industry service and leadership – including being one of the founding members of CDA in 1962. This renewed strategic partnership underscores a mutual commitment to moving the industry forward, and to applying the CDA membership’s collective knowledge base to help solve society’s most pressing challenges and opportunities.

"We are delighted to welcome CXM back to the CDA community,” said Adam Estelle, President and CEO of CDA. “Our mission to bring the value of copper to society has never been more relevant, and we are honored to have a founding member back at the table to advance our mission during these pivotal times of electrification and America’s industrial renaissance. CXM is well-poised to build upon its legacy and meet the evolving needs of the market through a steadfast commitment to high-quality alloys, custom extrusions, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service.”

As a member of CDA, CXM will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry peers and leaders on strategic market development initiatives, access cutting-edge research and market intelligence, and positively influence the use of copper, particularly within key sectors such as data centers, the power grid, and building construction.

“Returning to the CDA community was the right choice at the right time. With the ever-increasing demands, fast emerging technologies and the challenges ahead pertaining to copper and copper alloys, we will do our part to collaborate on new ideas and create technical innovations that will prove beneficial to society for years to come,” said Jim Miller, Director Sales & Marketing at CXM. “With our foundry capabilities and flexible rod mill production, we can bring a lot to the table when it comes to developing solutions for tomorrow’s needs. Since the acquisition by Tramec CXM has been undergoing strategic improvements aimed at enhancing manufacturing capabilities and has a renewed focus on excellence. I speak on behalf of the entire CXM/Tramec team; it is an honor to be a part of the CDA community’s mission, and we look forward to collaborating with our peers as we work toward mutual goals that will set us all up for success.”

CDA is dedicated to promoting the value of copper and its alloys, ensuring their continued relevance and efficient use across a wide range of applications. The addition of CXM to its membership underscores the importance of cross value chain collaboration in building a stronger and more resilient U.S. copper industry.
