The company began operations in 1956 in Mexico, then known as Conductores Monterrey, with a small plant with just seven machines and ten employees producing bare wire and low-voltage cable. Operating today as Viakable, the company is now a leading cable manufacturer serving energy generation, transmission and distribution markets around the world with bare and insulated copper wire and cable products. In 2018, Viakable acquired the assets of American Bare Conductor in LaSalle, IL, expanding their presence in and support for the U.S. market.
